William Lea Ltd were selected by Laing O’Rourke as the screeding contractor for all back-of-house areas on the new-build shopping centre in the heart of Oxford.

As shop units were being taken by various companies and shopfitters were appointed, William Lea Ltd were asked to supply and install sand and cement screed on the majority of the shop units throughout the shopping centre. Overall, this amounted to over £850,000 worth of work for the company.

Shopfitters were offered a choice of screed by William Lea Ltd from the cheapest, fibre-reinforced screed, Isocrete K-Screed and Retanol Xtreme Screed. When the benefits of using Retanol Xtreme Screed were explained, every shopfitter chose that option, even though it came at a higher price.

Every screed William Lea Ltd have installed for shop-fitting companies over the last few years has been Retanol Xtreme Screed, as the time/cost benefits are huge.
